Since 1939, the staff at Zeffirion’s has gained universal recognition and merits for their great culinary skill including the introduction of pesto sauces all around the world. Guests such as Frank Sinatra Liza Minelli, burt Lancaster and even Pope John Paul II have doned and enjoyed the culinary specialities at Zeffirino’s. Today families are realising the ease and enjoyment of cruising with Costa, which offers the perfect settling for a reunion. On board there are menus, activities and a variety of entertainment designed to suit every family member from kids to grandparents. From Italian language classes to cooking classes to duty free boutiques and “aah la carte” body treatments, plus our youngest guests and their parents are invited to participate in our Costa Kids Programme. Indeed some of the best things do come in small packages – and that’s certainly the case with our Costa Kids Programme. From pizza parties and pirate treasure hunts to face painting, masquerades, and even Italian language lessons, supervised activities like these are all in a day’s play for kids lucky enough to cruise with Costa. And that means you and your family can enjoy all the fun of Cruising Italian Style. Morning, afternoon and evening events are scheduled to entertain children from 3 (out of nappies) to 17. Youth activities are directed and organised by a special staff of youth counsellors offering kids a shipful of supervised activities like:
>Their own Sail away party Costa Kid’s Club Groups Run by an energetic staff of youth counsellors, the programme is tailored to fit four separate age groups Mini Club – For children from 3 (out of nappies) to 6 years old Young kids will have lots of fun listening to their favouring children’s stories, making arts and crafts, or attending a fun-filled “masquerade party”. Of course, there are always plenty of special snacks to hand.
Morning: 9.00am – 12.00pm Maxi Club – For children from 7 to 11 years old. The perfect hideout for kids ages 7 to 11. They can hunt for treasures and compete in a water mini-Olympics, or get their hearts pumping with jogging and aerobics. For quieter moments there’s a variety of videos and games.
Morning: 9.00am – 12.00pm Costa Teens Club – For children from 12 to 14 years old. From parties to dance competitions and tournaments, these junior teens will have the time of their life with a wide variety of activities!
Morning: 10.00am – 12.30pm Teen – For children from 15 to 17 years old. Now it’s possible for this age group to have fun on holiday with their families. Totally hip teens can participate in sports and fitness activities, watch videos and groove to their favourite music during disco hour.
Morning: 10.30am – 12.30pm NOTE: Kids, Junior and Teen Club programmes may vary depending on the ship and number of children participating. Ship Amenities for Kids Kids will be entertained for hours in a cave-like atmosphere featuring a large variety of video games. There is a nominal charge for tokens.
While Costa does not offer shore excursions specifically for children, there are a number of shore excursion activities well suited to them at special rates.

On both formal nights, children can spend the evening with their peers as they enjoy a supervised buffet dinner and fun activities designed especially for them. While the kids are being entertained, parents can relax as they enjoy sumptuous cuisine and a romantic evening together, feeling secure that their children are having fun while being supervised by our dedicated Youth Counsellors. The entire ship is at your disposal, with its superb facilities and
features. By day, you can choose from many different activities or get
involved in sports competitions and dance classes. You can even learn to
speak Italian! And at night, it’s all bright lights and parties. Choose
from piano bar, jazz, classical, Latin and ballroom dancing or hits from
the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Costa offers all kinds of dining options, so you can eat formally or
casually, in the open air, in a restaurant or in your cabin – any time
of day or night!

renowned Italian Chef Ettore Bocchia. Executive Chef at the Grant Hotel
Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio on lake Como, which was awarded 1 Michelin
star in 2005, he is also the creator of the revolutionary molecular
cooking. In the scope of this partnership with Ettore Bocchia, Club
Concordia a la carte restaurant and the exclusive Welllness Centre
restaurant Ristorante Samsare will be under the direct supervision of
this award-winning chef. His innovative cuisine promises to excite and
delight the senses of guests aboard this gem of the ocean.
An Italian Style holiday is big fun for the little ones on board a Costa
ship! With lots of activities and games to choose from, kids can have
fun playing with children their own age. And Mum and Dad can relax,
knowing their children and under the careful supervision of the ship’s
dedicated youth entertainment staff. The Costa Kids programme is
included in the price of your cruise holiday, so all activities are free!
Kids and their parents can get together and participate in fun
activities like karaoke, bingo and even a talent show. These activities
are a great opportunity for parents and kids to spend time together and
have loads of fun while they’re at it!
Children will love the special Kids Menu that is served at every meal
for it contains all of the foods that kids like best! Spaghetti, Pizza,
Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Grilled Cheese, Ice Cream and more
– there is always something to please even the most finicky eaters!
Plus, Costa offers a Boys & Girls beverage card for 20 non-alcoholic
drinks – so kids can have fruit juices and carbonated drinks at any time
during their cruise!
Costa takes parents travelling with kids into consideration with Parents
Night Out, a feature which appeals to both children and adults alike.
While cruising is a vacation for the whole family, Costa also provides
quiet time for Mum and Dad. That can be during the day, while the kids
are entertained in the Kids Club programme, or at night, while the kids
are with group baby-sitters. Mini and Maxi Club night time group
babysitting, held in the children’s area, is a free of charge
baby-sitting service until 1.30am.
